Ah, I am from Republic of Texas, currently occupied by USA forces.

Also was planning to keep the PSU inside a still good but older IDE based system ( my over the air DVR system build with puppylinux 4.16 ) Just run a RaspiP3 as the stay alive wattage to turn on motherboard via Eth0 wakeup to fully power 12V system and trigger recordings, supply 12V power to lights etc.
Will need pics of plug in wire you talk about, and if you have a back switch able 120v to 240v version all the better, mine is but not labeled.

You will need assistance.

Not much, have a degree in EE just not of the 'AC power line - kind' Power supplies I have build modified etc. Just haven't done so in a long while. Also been thrown across the room, on a hot chassy design while repairing flyback, grounding to chassy doesn't work in those stupid < old timey > European manufactured TVs. :wink:
Did oddly gain a special super power, I can 'feel' a ungrounded system just by rubbing my finger against it, after that event.

If it is a mild 'vibrating' sensation when you rub your finger lightly over an ungrounded chassis, then there are *two* of us with super powers ;-)

RPi3: "Sorry, this text-mode Xorg Wizard is disabled for this build of Puppy"
Using an hdmi-vga converter or direct hdmi. Was booting into screen but no longer.
Full CLI functional.
Any ideas, please?

Make changes to config.txt file

https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentati ... fig-txt.md

For instance I must use

Code: Select all

hdmi_group=1
hdmi_mode=4
because my tv set is not standard to hdmi.

Maybe there is a setting that is useful to you.
Check on raspberry pi form. Somebody must be using an adaptor.

Thanks, Don. Will report back mid-week.
Thinking ahead, I want to reprise the inspired thinking of Alan Sugar with his introduction of the 464 back in the mid-'80s. An RPi, probably a v.2, could be made to fit inside a keyboard (everybody hates touchpads & dittoscreens, so k/b is the de minimis, IMO). Power from the monitor entirely adequate - flying lead to socket. Just need to add a USB socket (to hub) and cut a slot for SD card insertion. Suspect it could become a crowd-funder for some enterprising young lad?

SD card became corrupted, had to reload. Don't like SD cards!

I had the same problem once myself when running fatdog arm.
Probably some data was damaged
when choosing 'Reboot'
I had to reformat and start again. It only happened once but
it is a weakness.

Google donated money to raspberry pi a couple of years ago.
Now it is working with the raspberry pi people
Google wants to bring smart tools to Raspberry Pi-like boards
Google is also trying to get into more smart devices via Android Things, which is the company's IoT OS. The OS is a lightweight version of Android for use with sensors and cameras.

Only three boards -- Raspberry Pi 3, Intel Edison and NXP's Pico i.MX6UL -- support Android Things.

The first Android Things developer preview of the OS was released in December, but many issues have yet to be resolved. The preview doesn't support hardware-based graphics acceleration on Raspberry Pi, and there are audio issues with the Edison board.

IoT is one area I plan to avoid. Too many snoopers & hackers!
However, now that "Remix" is available for x86, I'm thinking that it should be ported to RPi, although it might require Jide's permission unless he/they do it themselves.
Of course, BK has a Remix device, himself...

Really thankful how useful you @BK made this.
