Six months ago, Macpup wasn't even on the Top 100;
averaging the last three months, it's ranked 96th;
for the last month, Macpup rates a respectable 35;
for this week its ranked 6th.

(theme from Rocky ... :o :D )

btw, it wouldn't hurt to update the DW description on the Macpup page (what the hit counter is watching); there is no need for that to be minimalist. :wink:

Bummer, They just updated the list and we fell back to #14 . WE had a 6 day in the top 10 . Not bad for 131 mb distro.

Wow , they do have us under the last 30 days ranked at #35 . Thats kind of cool too.

Distrowatch ranking..

#75 Post by russoodle »

Rats! i hate to see its ranking sliding too....Puppy sat down on his haunches as well and i can't even find TEENpup in the last 7 days at all now, whereas it was in the top 20 a few days ago....ahhh, the fickle public :cry:

Never mind runtt, getting to #6 is a great achievement...i think Macpup, TEENpup and Puppy have all done yourselves and this community proud, especially for such tiny distros, so congrats....anyway, who's to say some incarnation of Macpup won't up and paw its way into the top of the biccy-barrel again in the future, eh? My money's onya, mate! 8) :D

That DW ranking seems to be based on the particular distro's description page hits, not downloads or user reviews, etc

You must understand distros are in competion with each other, not so much with tinylimp. (I've often wondered if the sheer number of flavors doesn't put off new users. And that's why the descriptions are so important.)

Distros that have been around awhile have certainly taken notice of Macpup too! :shock: :wink:

Thanks runtt, you're welcome....and according to latest site stats, there's still plenty of interest in both E17 puplets, as well as Macpup Opera....(are you gonna make me take the earlier E17 down? :( I will if you'd rather but it might suit some users better, for whatever reasons...just a thought..)

Macpup on CD now too....that's great....you guys have obviously got a hungry public out there...onward and upward!

:D
