Hi.

Why is peasymp3autoplay.desktop in /usr/sbin?

The autoplay function is only designed to start from a right-click, so there is no point in it having a menu entry in /usr/share/applications. But it needs a .desktop file somewhere to set up the right-click menu.

Look in the post-install script to see the setup.

[Edit] I have uploaded a new version of 4.5 that puts the Autoplay .desktop file in usr/share/applications but applies the NoDisplay option. This works too.

It's here. It's contained in the larger package peasymp3_progs-4.6.pet.

Cool, thanks. "The larger package" is so small I thought it was just an add on pack...

Hi rcrsn51 - I haven't used peasy mp3 for a while but I am currently working on a live freshly booted puppy and I installed the v4.7 progs so that I could play an mp3 directory via right click and listen while i tinker. It's working very well (thank you).

Then I heard an old favourite track that I had forgotten was in there and decided I wanted to play it again. I closed the autoplay window and rightclicked the track - but of course there was no rightclick entry to play a single track via peasymp3.

Would you consider adding that to the next version? (I may have asked this before but forgotten your answer - such is the vaporous state of my memory...)

If I had a savefile i could set up the right click customisation, but I thought it might be nice to have the rightclick option set up from scratch for single track, just as it is for directory autoplay.

cheers!

Hi rcrsn51,
I am hoping to use peasymp3 to play a directory of mp3 files that need to be played in sequential order and would like to start this process by rightclicking on the directory rather than starting peasymp3 from the menu then dragging the directory into it. (So this process is the same as is possible using autoplay - but without the randomise function).

I have partially set this up by dragging /usr/sbin/peasymp3 into /root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/OpenWith/.inode_directory which works fine - it opens the directory in peasymp3 but it requires me to click "start" in the peasymp3 gui. Is there anything I can do to get it to start playing automatically as soon as the gui opens please?

Create a playlist.m3u file where each line contains the full path to an audio file.

To play it, use Right-Click > Open With > PeasyMP3
Or see the instructions for making PeasyMP3 the default player for M3U playlists.

[Edit] See the new RFIS tool in PeasyDisc for making playlist files.

Thank you.
Just as a sidenote - have you considered having a thread where you list all of your 'peasy' contributions - with links to each of the types of peasy software you have published? It would be handy to boomark that one thread and then be able to click through to peasy pdf, peasy scan, peasy mp3 etc etc.

Choice of Legopen, the hungarian Vividpup
Topic, in english, not read. I would have some questions, perhaps not yet answered. Translating english makes me loose the pleasure of listening Music.mplayer_tahrpup-1.1.pet: 1844 K ah !
" The five "trays" can be played in order or you can randomize the whole playlist" with Carrousel, well noticed. I resume...It's not only MP3 ?
I hold several music .ogg

Since most folders are sorted alphabetically, a random play of folder option would be cool.

If you want randomized playback, look at the Carousel in v4.8.

PeasyMP3 sends all audio files (other than MP3 and WAV) to mplayer. So as long as your Puppy has a basic version of mplayer, it will work fine.
