I think we are going to keep everything up for now. We put all of the foxy's back up yesterday. I just want to make sure if someone uses macpup e17 they understand that it very old & wont run any of the new e17 stuff.

:D Hello,
Tonight I`m running MacpupOpera on a 26" LCD...
Sweet.. :D
My Wife booted it while I was gone...into JWM...LOL..
She said I dont know which one this is, Mac something I think, but it is sure fast!! :D
( My Grub has to scroll to see all the entries, she just took a random shot..)
Wait till she tries the E-17 side of it!
Very stunning on th big screen... 8)

@puppyluvr - yah, big flatscreens :) tempted to un/rehook my 'good' comp from the crt array and displace the old Compaq next to the LCDtv .. (nah, hate moving and the setup is a bit clumsy but gorgeous crisp even on testpups that may not work so well off liveCD) .. "while I was gone" testimonial to good design is when curious works!

@runtt21 - the only package I had minor issue with was the Macgic.J.pet (should have read more, think I was expecting something else like an e-pkg rather than a kind of icewm/wbar combo) which was kind of interesting in a fairly mature Dingo I had lying about - oops, it already had a perfectly good wbar setup and custom menu ;) but no worries as pfix worked even better than the 'uninstall' ..

Hmm, plogout seems to be fairly adaptable (working on one of Gray's NOPs and a few others :D )

We haven't updated the Macgic pets since Dingo. These are mostly tested only on Dingo and is specifically for converting a regular Puppy Dingo to a Macpup Dingo.

I think it might be a good idea to leave that feature out of the next macpup.

E16 or E17 ? Rasterman told me that they will be releasing a new snapshot of e17 once a month for the next 3-4 months . Other than including elementary and some small updated to evas-libs and ecore-libs there isnt much difference between .060 and .061 . I think that elementary will replace etk soon.I have exhibit working but its very unstable.

Etk , Enlightenment tool kit . kind of like gtk but for e17 . I love the clock in the test module.I pulled it out and I am going to try to put it in a theme this weekend. It shows the date on the clock face.

Elementary is the new stuff . The settings panel in Opera uses it.

You can get the background here :

http://www.e17-stuff.org/content/show.p ... ent=107928

Right now I dont think we will be releasing a new pup until after BarryK finishes updating 4.xxx . The only thing different with opera061 is that e17 is updated. Just plug the extra modules into a regular opera and add that background and the one that Catdude made and that basically it. Well it also has an updated version of my Megan Fox e17 theme .( The main theme of macpup foxy e17)
The next release of e17 is July 27. They are suppose to release the next version after that in Sept. So the July one may be the one we build the next pup with. There really isnt much difference between .060 & .061 .
I know that we are notorious for cranking out lots of pups BUT Opera has only been out 5 or 6 weeks now. BUT stay tuned ,next week is another thing all together.

Ttuuxxx has made some very cool stuff for the 2.18 project . I tested and found that both his pup-shot app and MinHundHettePerro Pup-Shots-v2p01 work very well in Opera . The cool thing is it will make a scaled screenshot that is the right size for posting in the forum .

TTuuxx'x version Pup-Shots-v1.pet is on this page :

And MinHundHettePerro Pup-Shots-v2p03.pet is on this page :

Macpup Opera on acer One / 5315

#99 Post by mpierrat25 »

I like very much Macpup Opera, however I'm facing problems when installing on both AcerOne and Acer 5315

1) WiFi (Atheros) : Does not works with ath5pci or ath-pci

2) USB keys : not able to mount any ubs storage device.

3) Amarok : When closing Amarok it should continue running and a icon should appear in the systray ; Ok in jwm , what about in E17 ??

Thanks for your help

You need a pup that is set up for the acer one .Try this pup out :

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 64&t=35424

If everything works for you running that .You can try adding e17 to it.I dont have access to a acer or a netbook so I cant tweek stuff for them.

As for #1 I dont use wifi cant help you here check the forum for drivers for you card running 4.2.0

#2 I use Usb drive everyday and on all all the computer we test with.THis is a hardware issue with your computers.

#3 Make sure Amarok has an Icon in e17 ,Added it to the ibar and give it an icon. Then when you minimize it it will show up in the ibox. But if you close it ,its closed...
