Released June 9th, most recent post on the link to Barry's blog is June 16th.

While it was ID'd as a "needs testing" it is the most stable and versatile of the bunch in our experience across 6 different brands of laptops.

xorg fails on my ACER Aspire laptop with ATI Radeon HD9200.

I have tried every conceivable setting, xorg, vesa, Choose ati, Choose radeon, Choose radeonhd, no joy.

LHP and Lucid can handle my ACER but not Wary 030.

Is it because of the version of xorg?

If so is there a workaround or will I have to use a different Puppy?

I am trying to have the same Puppy on all of the computers for simplicity of support and minimal potential variables when troubleshooting.

WDYT?

For Radeon HD video cards, I guess it needs module called "radeonhd".

From my prior post:

I have decided to wait for Barry's imminent release of SPUP 040

I'm using Wary 030 on my medium-aged desktop pc, AMD Sempron 2600 1.8GHz, 1GB RAM.

It works good except some little flaws:

I could connect with my Atheros AR5001X+ wifi card at first attempt (while latest OpenSUSE and Debian always failed  ) but:

Pwireless2 does not start: I get an ok message if I'm already online ("You have finished running Jemimah..."), nothing if I'm not

The Simple Network Setup works but not all boots I get connected, so I have to select my router and input my WEP key again into SNS, then 9/10 I get connected.
The Network wizard seems not to work better.
_________

Other minimal issue: I could not configure my laser printer (Samsung ML-1640) using CUPS but I downloaded Samsung "linux unified driver" (can't remember how many megs big) and I got it to work.

(Haven't tryied to setup my Epson DX3850 scanner yet.)

Thanks for support.

I tried 070 with newest kernel but no sound and no wlan (I haven’t tried latest modem fix).

I tried 070 with retro kernel and latest modex fix: wlan and sound but no video wmv streams.

I tried 060 but no wmv video streams.

So, I’m back on 030. Can anyone help me to update 030-Retrovol? This R-thing has memory for settings on 060 but starts muted on 030.

Btw. (Flash) Video stream quality is TOP-excellent on 030 using 24-bit xorg and flashplayer 10.1.82.
