SysRes-1.0 is a system restore app to make restore points and restore your system. You must have a save file.
It can be found in Control Panel > System

Another one for testing, power-0.2 is an extension of acpi-tool and ppower to give more power settings. It is in the development stage so it could easily change. CPU mode can be set by the gui or right clicking on ppower tray applet. Again, you might want to backup your savefile as some files will be overwritten. The gui can be opened with ppower tray or Control Panel > System > Power Options.
Feedback is more than welcome.

Updates!
Hi everyone, Is this the right thread for general support on Carolina?
The desktop looks nice and worth keeping but a couple of queries:
Firstly how do I update the packages (I've no idea how old this distro is) - ie what's the equivalent of 'sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude safe-upgrade'?
Secondly I see there are posts dated 2014 but there doesn't seem to be a decent home site/page - is the distro likely to be around in a year's time?
Do people think it's a better bet than say Simplicity for long-term use?

Just post in this thread http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=81312 where most of the action ismarmalade wrote:Hi everyone, Is this the right thread for general support on Carolina?
The package manager updates from the Carolina repo automatically by default when it is opened, there is a check box top left to disable it.how do I update the packages (I've no idea how old this distro is) - ie what's the equivalent of 'sudo aptitude update && sudo aptitude safe-upgrade'?

There are only upgrades by downloading a newer version, there are no plans to upgrade at this time and any upgrade will be mainly to the existing applications and bug fixes.
There is no official web site as such, only links to file locations and a few simplistic help pages, to find out whats happening just monitor the forum
I have no idea what Simplicity is built from at present, it has been made from a few different versions of Puppy, thought I haven't followed it's progress, as for Carolina it is old and doesn't run some newer software such as Google-Chrome, but I personally find it adequate for my day to day use.Do people think it's a better bet than say Simplicity for long-term use?

Disable Control Panel at startup
Hi,
with apologies if this thread is in the wrong place.
In Carolite-1.2, how can I prevent or disable Control Panel
appearing on the desktop at startup or autostart, which
means I have to close it manually every time?
I use on a USB stick running on an Advent laptop.
Many thanks for assistance offered.
Regards.
