Any other smallish Linux distributions?
Puppy is the first and only linux distribution I have tried. Like to try some others. Requirements: just about the size of Puppy (200MB and less), relatively full featured like Puppy, frugal install by just copying a few files and editing grub4dos menu.lst (or booting directly from iso with grub4dos menu.lst entry). Thanks
Hello,
There are quite a few small Linux distributions out there.
DSL, Tinycore, Austraumi, Luitlinux to name a few.
But as far as running as root, or the capability to do frugal installs, I believe Puppy stands alone, with one exception.
Debiandog is a minimal debian-based Puppy look alike.
It is the only "non-Puppy" linux I use.
It has its own thread here on the Forum, worth taking a look.

Close the Windows, and open your eyes, to a whole new world
