I cannot seem to get audio playing on the latest version of Firefox as downloaded by the Firefox updater. I tried following the steps as seen on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fi ... -and-video but none of them seem to work. I have also "installed" Google Chrome but it doesn't even launch.

Here's my hardware as presented by HardInfo:

Tag Mate, this pkg may be all you need for FF. Chrome is an entirely different beast.

That "Apulse" program/package/application fixed the probem for Firefox, I ran "apulse firefox" in the terminal after installing it and after a few attempts, I can now hear videos on both YouTube and Twitch. Thanks! I don't need Google Chrome now.

Excellent! Append your "firefox.desktop" menu item exec line the same way.

Code: Select all

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Firefox
Icon=/usr/share/icons/mozicon128.png
Comment=Google Cohort
Exec=apulse firefox
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=X-Internet-browser
GenericName=Firefox web browser
