Power OFF and Firewall-Settings

#1 Post by exle »

Hi there

I have HD-Install, probably 2.11 and I´m very happy with it.
There are two small problems:

a) System does not react when I choose Power OFF. What happens?
Desktop "removes" - I can shortly see the text - and then XWIN restarts...

any hints ???

b) It seems that I configured my Firewall a lot too strong.
How can I disable the firewall?

Kind regards
KARL

as a workaround, you can try to shut down X windows (from the menu or by pressing ctrl+alt+backspace ... save your work and shut down open programs first) ... then type reboot or type poweroff

you can probably type:

/etc/rc.d/rc.firewall stop

if you drag the rc.firewall file from /etc/rc.d/ to /root/my-applications/bin/ with the middle mouse button (wheel) to make a link, and if you rename the link "fw", then you can type:

To start the firewall:

fw

To stop the firewall:

fw stop
