gimp print plugin crashes (puppy 2.14)

I've tried both Gimpshop version 2.2.10 and Gimp 2.3.10. Gimp's plugin browser shows the print plugin loaded, and the error window shows this:

GIMP Message
Plug-In crashed: "print"
(/root/my-roxapps/gimpshop/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/print)

I tried taking the print plugin file and putting it place of the one on a working puppy 2.11 machine, and it works there, so I conclude that the print module doesn't work with puppy 2.14. Both machines print to the same printer on the network, and have pdq set up the same way.

Any suggestions?

Hello!

I have similar problem with gimpshop 2.2.10 print plugin in puppy 2.16 and cups installed. When I want to print, there is error window saying:

Plug-In crashed: "print"
(/root/my-roxapps/gimpshop/lib/gimp/2.0/plug-ins/print)

I can print with other programs (abiword, OO).

Can anyone help?

Well, my solution was to install cups, and hat fixed the problem for me. You've got the problem AND cups.

I've no clue what actually causes the print plugin crash.
