Any sugestions where to start

Baught a new motherboard and cpu as the old one finally gave up the ghost.

Partition with 2.12 the usb works ok and the peripherals and memory drive are seen.

Barry's new 2.16 cd installs / runs ok but no usb.

sugestions please folks

ps have looked at the bugs list first but nothing seems to fit.

2.17 Beta works for my 1 Gig LG USB on a cheapie Asus all in one,
where it would not boot it before.

But try a different USB port with what you have. Usually 2 at the front and 4 at the back. Some boards had a fault with one of the front USB ports.

Are you really sure the Bios is booting USB hard drive first?
Some BOARDS NEED SETTING THE USB STICK at LBA to work.
as well as the boot order of your USB hard drive is set at the top?
Some boards have awful Bios settings...recheck.

sorry, apparently not enough info was provided,

have a hard drive with multiple version of linux.

I also have a usb stick with other pup's (not release limited) but this is not the problem.

I am trying to create my own hard drive version for a local school to try puppy so I need to add some linux apps they use now.

The USB ports work in mut using a 2.12 version and I already have modified this for them.

I got from barry the 2.16 and wanted to add the same apps before releasing it to them to play with

however none of the usb ports appear in mut in 2.16 where they do appear in 2.12

hope this makes more sense
