Thanks for that muggins. Would you happen to know what is the current version of Transmission used in puppy? I have found it to crash quite often (its ruined many a night in watching videos when you get back and its crashed!!!), hopefully this will fix it.

rob,

I don't know about the crashes...I've never used the app. I think I've downloaded maybe 3 torrents in the past few years & I'm quite happy using the app recommended by klh, aria2c.

I did notice though that with this version, and the previous one, when you exit the app. it seems to take too long to close the window, which I found odd.

muggings, thank you for the 0.94 package.
After installation the original files remained in the /usr/local/bin folder, the new files were copied to /usr/bin folder.
The original menu entry of transmission is in the Internet section and a new entry appears in Network menu section.
I suppose, this way both version can be started. I deleted the old ones.

How to see options for encryption?

Hello, I cant see the options to turn on encryption. I have heard people saying that version .90 onwards had encryption support. Anyone know how? Thanks

Hi rajeshh,

Well I see no response to your query. Unfortunately, apart from compiling the app & uploading it, I know not much about it's peculiarities & usage. You would probably have a better chance of finding an answer to your question on the Tx forum:

If you do a search for "encryption", there's 92 posts for you to wade through.

At least I saw the answer to my query, about Tx taking some time to close down:

Thanks for your response. I found an answer somewhere else that said that encryption is turned on by default.

thanks
