How to ignore 2fs files on startup?

#1 Post by geo909 »

Hello everybody.

Could you please tell me what should I do In order to force Puppy to ignore any 2fs files on startup?
That is, to startup like it's the first time even there are several 2fs files on a disk..

All that time I was doing that manually, renaming the 2fs files and removing the extension, but
that's not so convenient...

Thanks in advance

Hello Geo, at the first screen, the one full of text with all the boot options, type

Puppy pfix=ram

that will cause puppy to boot without checking for pup save files.
you only have 5 seconds in which to do this.
the only thing that is constant is change

If you dont have time to hurry typing those words, just hit a key with one letter and the startup will stop there untill you either remove the letter or type puppy pfix=ram and hit enter.

I found out that when someone was asking me about something and I couldnt type the words within the 5 seconds (because I thought it was only those 5 seconds to do this).

Edit: just realised that I didnt wait to see if this last, so I will check to be sure that the startup does not just keep on.
