Install Wireless Driver ENLWI-G2

#1 Post by Marianeitor »

Hi,

I was trying to compile some lan drivers, and i had to install devx_301.sfs.

Then I could use, for example the make command, but I get another error, I do not have the /lib/modules/2.6.21.7/build/ folder...

So, the build folder is missing.

I guess that I should do something with kernel-src_301.sfs

Could someone tell me how?

Tks

PS. I have Puppy 3.01 installed

I suggest you look here for working wifi

rather than keep trying & failing to compile yourself, or

or a thorough good read is Jean Tourrilhes excellent work, here

Thanks Aitch!

I got the wifi working, using ndiswrapper (win98 .inf file).

Now I'm trying to share internet with a Vista Laptop. But that is in another post I opened here.

Its amazing how the puppy community helps one to the other. Very impressive.

Thanks again

From your last post I understand you have a wireless access point.
If you Vista laptop has a wireless adapter, there is no need to do Internet Connection Sharing. Just configure the wireless adapter in Vista.
Time savers:
Find packages in a snap and install using Puppy Package Manager (Menu).

Hi!, I'm using NDISWrapper too, because the people of encore told me they don't have drives for my board under linux.
It's been almost a year using this GREAT program and i never had problems with it.
If you need to know how to configure and use it, check this link: Seeya!!

When ruminating on the inner workings of wifi adapters, as with other devices in Linux, it's important to investigate and consider the chipset in question.

Even though Marianeitor and daemonraco have not revealed the chipset in question, I'm hoping that they're both aware that it's the Marvell Libertas.

Then if/when they try Puppy4 with the 2.6.25 kernel they will see that there is now a native Linux driver for this chipset. The new driver is called "libertas".
