which wine did you install (provide link)?
and how is your puppy install setup?
... need to know this to find out if there is an actual problem
wine does not actually need a menu entry, but you should run winecfg at some point
if you downloaded my pet package or sfs from puppylinux.asia/members/T/... then you should have lots of menu entries
(login and pass are puppy and linux respectively)

From a certain version of wine on, and if 'installed' as sfs, you will have winefile in the file menu and other wine utilities in the utilities menu.

i have the same problem as fminmexico.
i followed the '5 easy steps' from this page, tried the automatic installation thats recommended for beginners, and tried "winelite.pet' as posted in post 96 of this thread.
each time, i see no difference in puppy... and with the latter attempts, PETget warns me that 'wine' is already installed even though its not listed in PETget package manager.
im runing puppy 4.12 from a usb flash drive. frugal install, i think it is.
puppy is my first experience with linux, so im a noob

If you go to a console/terminal and you type fixmenus followed by a restart of JWM, is there nothing in the menu?

are you talking about wine entries in the menu or are you looking for programs that you installed with wine
if you try my package I can help - forget the slack pack use this
http://puppylinux.asia/members/T/486_pe ... 9-i486.pet
user:password = puppy:linux
the (soft) dependencies are in the same directory... jack, esd, ldap...
get xorg dri from pet get for 3d stuff
(NOTE that wine will run without these "soft" dependencies)
Read through this thread
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=37783
if you insist on using the slack pack - read my next to last post and use my "goodies" - it probably doesn't have menu entries because wine does not make them by default and slack does most things default

I downloaded the 1.1.19 sfs technosaurus made (thank you) and 'installed' via the bootmanager in upup jaunty (461)
I got immediately the entries in the menu and was surprised by the additions made in the utility section.
Wine is getting better and better.

funny... i tried installing a pet called "wine-1.1.19-prescott.pet" on a new save file... and it worked. but when i try install another wine pet (cant remember what its called) it doesnt work. it just asks me if i want to install, and then nothing. no 'updating package manager' message or anything. and then it doesnt display in the installed packages list, but says it *is* installed if i try to reinstall it, or try another wine pet, like the prescott one.
also, the prescott only installs if i run it from my flash drive. it wont work from my hard drive (sda1).
i'll try technosaurus' package now. if it doesnt work, ill try scrapping my save file and using a new one.
about the dependencies: what is each one for? there are a bunch in that directory. are there any other dependencies that arnt in that directory?
also, will this .pet work with puppy 4.2? because i plan to dl it today. (im thinking it will... just makin sure)

Earlier versions of Wine didn't have menu entries made in the pet's.
