I have to share with you that a million years ago when I was beta testing DbaseIV, I really enjoyed the input to the design guys....and this is really fun too.

Curious....is there/can there be an option to open a dbase in one format(dbase4) and save it to another format(dbase3).

Now...if one could port some of the dabse programming into Linux.................

Yes export of database to mutiple formats will be available in v 0.6.
dbaseIII+
dbaseIV
dbaseVII
Foxpro
SQLite
and a little further down the track Paradox, Oracle and M$ODBC.

Version 0.5b random key bug fix now uploaded...0.6 release with mass of feature changes should be ready tomorrow... :)

control keys

Question...are the control keys functional?

Looks like not all the options at the top... previous, first... have control keys...?

The key for save shows as Control -p.. is that right? And how much data must be entered to use the save? Putting in first three fields, then trying either ctrl-p or ctrl-s did not seem to work...

Next version :).

Shortcut key problem update has been posted...

Putting any number of fields greater than zero will now save the record.

Good work. :)

Will it also be able to import from (and export to) delimited text files, like CSV ones?

by gposil
It already can export to CSV and the import component is coming...

Excellent! Look forward to it. CSV import and export capability will make it fully compatible with spreadsheets such as Excel and Gnumeric.

Bernard, which browser do you use?
If you download with wget, the file is not renamed to the original *.pet name, so you must rename it in a filemanger. :(
Here is a temporary mirror:

@Beem,

usually that happens when you right click & use the "Save Link Target As...". To recover the .pet, without re-downloading, just rename viewtopic.php to the .pet's real name.

SeaMonkey as I always do. Never had a problem with 'save link targe as' I thought of renaming the viewtopic.php to pet, but it didn't install.
I'll look into it again.

That's what I did. Renaming, but it didn't install. I retry.
