Lien Mp3 Player is a mp3 and audio cd player for GNU Linux console. All you need is a Pentium 90 or faster computer (you can do mono output if you have slower computer), GNU Library 2.0 or above and ncurses 5.

I installed Lien and everything went well and it showed up on my media player list in Pup4, but when I click on the start icon it freezes Pup so I have to reboot.

I'm going crazy trying to find a MP3 player with a small footprint as I have Pup installed on a 800 Mz Thin Client and everything is cool except for the audio stutters while surfing.

I tried Cmus and even hunted down the missing lib files to no avail. I'm a noob with Linux and love the Dog (hate the African Bitch named Unbuntu though... lol) so I'm hoping someone can help me out.

Thanks TT I installed alsa and it runs with no issues, but my mp3's are on a usb drive that I cannot seem to find when using the players file system. When I mount the drive and view the files with ROX I can left click on any of the mp3's and have the option of playing them with gxine or Pmusic, but alsa does not show up as an option.

Sorry for being such a noob.

Man I hate Pmusic, grrrrrrrrr ok now that I got that out of my system, lol
Your going to fix this one:) I could do it for you, but its nice to teach people some new tricks.
ok go to /usr/local/bin/defaultmusicplayer and rightclick on defaultmusicplayer and select 'open as text'
next erase where it says pmusic, and type, alsaplayer then save it and try it again :)
