DVB-T eeepc 901

Hi there!

I now installed puppeee 4.3.1 on my 901 including OO. The basic installation works fine including WLAN, but I prefer very much NetworkWizard against Pwireless. The best thing of course is the suspend modus. In older versions I always had problems but now it works flawless! All double and superfluous programs I would like to kick out, including the "Fun" department. OO has it all!
But I'm only a stupid user and not a programmer :D

But now I want to configure my 901 for my personal needs including DVB-T. On 4.2 with Kernel 2.6.25.16, DVB was an easy job. Just install Linuxtv-dvb-apps-1.1.1.pet, take care for a node with makedev-dvb.sh, copy a channel.cfg, and that's it.

For my 4.3.1, I downloaded linuxtv-dvb-apps-1.1.1-rev1273-p4.pet, installed it and wanted to execute makedev-dvb.sh , but no success. :(

Dmesg finds my usb-stick but does not load the drivers, as it does in 4.2. Sorry I'm a beginner, but is the Kernel 2.6.31.5 not capable of DVB-T. Has anybody got it running out of the box ??

hokal,

Specify your DVB-T system (I assume its a stick if you are using an EeePC)
More importantly try to find out what chip is on it and what modules (drivers) are being automatically loaded by reading the output from dmesg.

Help might be there on the linuxtv.org website.

I've had the same problem with newer kernels not working with DVB-T like the old ones and at the time of writing I still haven't solved it (http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=36672

I have had success with puppy 4.3.1. Perhaps my pst here might help.
