Even it will be announced only next days, OpenOffice 3.2 stable is already out

I made two sfs ( a pet version is planned) for 3-xx-4.2xx series and for 4.3.xx.

I added 4 dictionaries (En-US, German, French, Italian, plus English surnames dictionary) for spell checking, so you don't need to install. This sfs version has no java in order to make package smaller

- OpenOffice 3.2 sfs 3 version for Puppy Linux 3.01-4.2.xx and 4.3.xx with 2.6.21.7 kernel
- download

- OpenOffice 3.2 sfs 4 version for Puppy Linux 4.3.xx with 2.6.30.5 kernel
- download

other openoffice releases on dokupuppy page:

you can see my sfs compatibility chart for furhter informations about sfs puppy compatibility trough versions

Thanks for the sfs

With the SFS for 4.3.1, I see links to the various programs, but no icons...where are they located? In lieu of that, where can I find the script that brings up soffice to allow only one desktop entry?

Thanks

Thom

icons are in /usr/local/lib/X11/ it seems I forget to edit .desktop files in /usr/share/applications Sorry for forget, I'll try a delta file for fix, maybe or I'll reupload the whole sfs

for your needs I can make a delta patch with only one link (with icon) pointing to soffice app

Either the delta file or the new sfs would be fine(I think a new sfs would be simpler).

Or...for crazies like me, maybe a howto place the soffice link with icon on the desktop.

Whichever is the easiest for you.

Thanks
Thom

Downloading now. Is it actually zipped, or does it just need re-naming?

hi DaveS I think he zipped the sfs files so that the server would allow him to upload the files :)

no, simply unzip (I'm buying a premium account on other filehosting allowing all filetypes and direct links, without zipping, meantime I use ziddu why, at least for my account, created two years ago) files are never deleted and this is very important for puppy users)

Hi Dingo

I just wanted to thank you for the OpenOffice 3.2 sfs 4 version for Puppy Linux 4.3.xx with 2.6.30.5 kernel

It worked like a charm. I was having trouble getting Openoffice3.2 to work after downloading it as a Pet Package. Everything installed fine just wouldn't work. So I tried yours and it did. No desktop Icon but not a big deal. The main thing (to me) is it works.

Thanks again
Mike

Dingo,

THANK YOU for OO 3.2 :D

Using your sfs with the "Puppies 4.3.1" puplet which was derived off Puppy 4.3. It was necessary to rename the sfs "_431" >> "_430", otherwise the sfs loader wouldn't see it. That sorted out, it was flying (still up in the air).

Great job, thanks again!

JR

PS - Desktop Icons:
A non-expert trial & error but nonetheless working method.
  • right click on one of the OO 3.2 desktop icons >> Show Location
/opt/openoffice.org3/program will be shown in new window
right click sbase icon >> File 'sbase' >> Set Icon ...
    set icon window will appear
open /usr/local/lib/X11/pixmaps >> right click on binoculars in toolbar >> scroll down
drag and drop openofficeorg3-base.png onto set icon window
repeat for other five OO 3.2 icons
    Menu >> Shutdown >> Restart X server
