Happens no more than one time out of twenty, booting from CD or USB stick. Red flag comes up, and difference in treatment of links is evident. Workaround is to unmount the spinning hdd with the NTFS partition and then mount it again. The better-behaving NTFS driver always is used to access it the second time.
