Flakey Wireless, is it hardware, software? (sorted)

My question is How do I figure out if my wireless problems are software related, or whether it's my card (and I could solve it buy getting a different one), or a PCMCIA issue (I could get a USB dongle).
I've got puppy running on a Toshiba 3490 notebook with an Asus WL170g pcmcia wireless card, I'm using turbopup extreme but also have puppy 431 installed with the same issue, which is that my wireless connection is hit and miss. Mostly it loads rt2500 module and connects (with pwireless2) It'll run good for a couple of hours then randomly drop the connection. Sometimes reconnecting works, other times I'll reboot and it'll go again but quite often I can't connect again (scan finds no networks) or no interface found messages.
Any trouble shooting tips or is this just the cost of using low a spec machine?

Likely faulty hardware sorry.

You may have bad caps or solder joints on your wireless receiver.

Try the lastest Lupu it has the latest wireless drivers from rewin.

Thanks for the replies so quickly. I've previously tried Lupi, among other pups but with 128mb of memory, I'm really liking Turbo pup.
RJARRRPCGP. I Thought that might be the reply, I've borrowed a friends card for the night, plugged it in and so for so good (I'm using it right now). If buying a new card is all I need then that's an easy fix.

Having got myself a new wireless card I realise how shot my old one was. Thanks for the nod in the right direction.
