Hi All!
Pretty self-explanatory. I've searched the site but found nothing. I'd love to be able to trim down the unused menu items the way I did in prior pups. Didn't see it in package manager either.
Anyone have this particular knowledge to share?
thanks

I think you have to run 'fixmenus' before you restart jwm?zygo wrote:800,
This is what I did for the app menu items in Puppy 431 which uses jwm. Make a directory /usr/share/applicationsX Move unwanted files from /usr/share/applications to /usr/share/applicationsX. Restart jwm.

DaveS,
you're right about fixmenus
800,
It makes the icewm menu too.
I was hiding seamonkey after I'd made a crude uninstall. What is your purpose? It occurs to me that a newcomer to PCs might benefit from a cut down menu. I myself don't use half the apps.

Code: Select all
# fixmenus
Generating /root/.icewm/menu...
Generating /root/.jwmrc...

zygo,
thanks. purpose is to declutter. I prefer just having the items I use the most be in the menus. I can locate the programs where they live and link to them if I'm using them for something. Otherwise I'd rather not have the extra stuff.
I still have a few prog links on the desktop, but I may get rid of more of those, or maybe even all of them. With the autohide task bar it's clean, clean, clean.
thanks again for the info guys
