How do I reduce size of lupu-501.sfs?

#1 Post by rumex »

How do I resize the lupu-501.sfs file? I have installed Puppy on a USB stick and provided 1.4G for the file, but I am only using 186M. The USB stick is normally read only because the stick is only used for banking, so I don't need much extra space.
TIA Rumex

A .sfs file is a read-only file.
Do you speak of the save file?
I that is the case, it can't be decreased in size.
Time savers:
Find packages in a snap and install using Puppy Package Manager (Menu).

Thanks, is that because it is compressed as small as it can be?

No, that function to decrease isn't provided, only increase is provided.
What you can do is make another smaller save file.
Boot with pfix-ram
mount the two save files and copy the some 18xMB from the biggest to the smaller one.

Or just make a smaller one and install the packages you installed in the bigger one again in the smaller one.
