Every startup, i must configure network card again (puppy 4)

#1 Post by rvqx »

On my old laptop Puppy 4.0 is the newest pupppy i can install (probably cpu 486). I encounter the same problem with 3.01 and 4.0: after startup i must take out the network card and put it back again. After that i can configure the card en browse the internet. Is this a wellknown problem and is there a solution? DSL-linux does not have this problem (but many other ones)
Networkcard: pcmcia L10C Dynalink Combo Ethernet adapter
Laptop: Toshiba Satellite 300 cdt ; 166 MHz 82 MB ram [edit] pentium MMX

Try and install Pwireless2.
Seems to have helped others.
Read info and look for added file needed to make work on Puppies older then 4.3

Succeeded.
I installed puppy 4.20 retro and now the configuring is remembered. This puppy is slower on my old laptop; when i`ve got time to spend, i`ll try to do it with the downloads mentioned above.
