Aspire w/ Working Sound in Puppy 5.1.1? [SOLVED]

#1 Post by rian »

Just wondering if it's possible. On my Aspire 4530 with nVidia HDA sound card, Puppy 5.1.1 recognizes the card, but the volume is so low I can barely hear it through the speakers, even with all controls maxed. Headphones, no different.

I used ALSA Sound Wizard and also the controls at the sound-icon in the "system tray." Also, the volume dial on the machine itself is not working (disabled, not engaged, whatever), but I keep cranking it towards + anyway, though it makes no difference.

I searched for a newer sound driver pet but couldn't find where these might be. (And just because this might be significant somehow, the sound driver that comes with FatDog works perfectly.)

Thanks for any help!

EDIT: SOLVED How come I search for hours without finding the answer, and the second I post the question and keep looking, I find it! :)
