Where to start?
The good news first, or the bad news first?
Maybe the good news first.
It is easier to lower the tone later than to raise it.
I wish I had had known there was a version 2.7 of Gimp a few days ago when I was doing a big project.
There have been a couple of large (to me) issues with Gimp that I have been hoping would be addressed in the next version and they have.
A bit like Windows or Ubuntu users who continually expect the next version to be better, but it never is.
Gimp now does everything the way I have always wished they were done.
That's the good news, and thankyou for making the .sfs available.
Now the other stuff.
I tried on 5 occasions over a week to get this at a reasonable d/l speed. It never happened.
Not only does rapidshare make you enable javascript, they won't let you resume a d/l, or use wget.
Today I finally decided that it wasn't a 'net issue or a temporary glitch with their site that
was causing the d/l to only come at 5.7KB/s, and went and did other things for the 80 minutes it took
to d/l it, instead of about 3 mins.
Presuming that such a low quality site was in the U.S or Spain, I was surprised to discover it is in Germany.
Other German sites still have great speeds.
What has happened to Germany that it has a site with this pathetic level of hosting?
And it has nothing to do with the tired old adage that "You get what you pay for".
Rapidshare it is not. Perhaps rabbitsnare or rabidhare would be more appropriate.
