Seems like it would be a waste of resources for most Puppy users, if downloads are infected they still will be once you transfer the file from the shared folder on the virtual system to Puppy, you wouldn't be able to upload on the forum, and you would be incapable of using any bittorrent client.

http://bit.ly/
also to quickly make a URL linkable
highlight the URL and click on the URL icon when creating a forum post

Hope that is useful :)

Test of short link did work

purple_ghost can you edit your first post so the link is not that superlong for us with small screens :)
( but without gaps I put in to be able to show how to do it. )

purple_ghost I have done this in my signature too so the url get hidden but the text are clickable so

from mag

BitBox's security derives from the fact that the browser
runs in a virtualized environment using VirtualBox 4.04
and a hardened implementation of Debian 6 Linux.

The included browser--Firefox 4--then runs in a separate
virtual machine with its own operating system, keeping it
completely separate from the rest of the user's system.

Unlike the simple sandboxing system of standard browsers,
in other words, BitBox runs a completely separate guest
operating system and keeps all browser activity isolated
and away from the base operating system.

Downloads, cut-and-paste capabilities and printing are all kept secure;
only a shared folder is in the base operating system, accessible through
a separate user account. Uploads, meanwhile, are not enabled, nor is
Internet access through the base operating system.

Perhaps best of all, each time the browser is restarted, it gets reset
to a certified boot image, thereby eliminating any malware that might
have gotten through in the previous session.

So if I wanted to do something similar on Puppy using Virtual Box then I would
BitBox's security derives from the fact that the browser
runs in a virtualized environment using VirtualBox 4.04
and a hardened implementation of Debian 6 Linux.
I would put a TinyCore Linux installed on Vbox in Puppy or ...
and in the TCL I install Firefox and that way it would be totally isolated???

Why TCL instead of Puppy withing puppy? Well it start out as only 11MB
and have no ntfs3G from start unless one install it so it takes less RAM
memory to use it than if I would use two 128MB puppy inside itself???

But how do I transfer files from TCL to Puppy?

I did not say Bit box was better.

I did not say it was a better means to surf securely than some options that are already available with Puppy Linux. Puppy can have a save file on an optical drive, which can have all the additional programs I want, do not mount main computer hard drive. Put files one downloads to flash drive. Do not save back to optical drive.

I thought some of the more technology minded here might want to look through Bit Box to see if it has something that Puppy could use.

I hope the link now works. Works for me.
