Mashup is a free open source Linux program for making and printing a photo montage. Images can be added to a layout page using the mouse to select and drop into place. Images can be moved around, resized and rotated using the mouse. Text can be added using any font, and moved around as needed. The completed layout can be saved as an image file (JPEG) or printed using any paper format.
2008.09.08 v.1.3 and 1.3.1
+ Added thumbnail index window: click thumbnail, then click layout
to add the image to the layout.
+ 1.3.1 restores lost folder icon in thumbnail index window
Looks like another great program, Only one question.
why is the exec in Run via Menu->Utility->Printoxx
Shouldn't it be Run via Menu->Documents->Printoxx ?
Its more of a document item, Than a utility Program. Could even fit in Graphics due to the image nature.
Anyways nice program

2008.10.02 v.1.6
+ choose black text on white background or the opposite
+ choose opaque or transparent text background
+ stop nuisance: text occluded by an image
@Muggins- I tried an earlier version of Printoxx than 1.6 and deleted it again, because I could not see any way to specify print size as (say) 7x5inch. Print size was as a percent of paper size, not easy if you want a print to fit into a photo frame. Has this changed?
And while on *oxx, I'm running Puppy 4.1.1, which has Fotoxx 5.0.1. I'm running Puppy in live cd mode. Can I update Fotoxx? Easily?
printoxx v1.6 just has the option to choose standard paper sizes, A4 to A9, but if you have any suggestions the developer welcomes you giving feedback:
In some sort of delusional state, I uploaded picpuz-1.9.1. rather than printoxx-1.7.1...surprisingly 4 people downloaded it without comment! Anyway. have now uploaded printoxx-1.7.1.
* files may now be added via drag and drop from a file manager or other application supporting file drag sourcing.
* blocks of text may be added via drag and drop from gedit or other applications supporting text drag sourcing.
For files moved into the layout window with drag and drop from Nautilus, file names having umlauts or other non-ascii characters were not being converted correctly from the (strange) Nautilus outputs (%xx in the file names).
2009.04.16 v.2.0
+ Images and text can have arbitrary rotation angle within layout.
+ Images can optionally have simple frames.
+ Image file selection dialog simplified: click file, click layout.
Wow, my 710C is printing my artwork as I speak, I am so pleased with your program. Thank you!
My unusual paper size was 16 x 23 which I entered in paper size menu but then the next box asked again for paper size and I set custom size, 16 * 23. The program looked like nothing was happening for quite a while before printing started and an error message came up. The next time I tried a print preview and it worked witout much delay. The image is positioned like it would be on A4 not like in the preview so it is next to an edge and maybe a little smaller. I am happy though and can use the image as it is but i thought you may like the feedback.
