I've seen fceux, ines, nestra, and nestopia for Puppy, but none of them function very well or have flaws.
Gfceu is probably the best NES emulator for Linux. Nestopia is best really only for Windows.
I have made a pet package of gfceu containing all the dependencies - fceu, alsa-oss, etc. The fceu executable in /usr/games/ was moved to /usr/bin for gfceu to work.
Enjoy!
Gfceu
Thanks, Sheepy. I just tested it in Slacko 5.3.3 and it worked well.
I did need to install python and SDL to get it to work.
Sheepy, I was just wondering; which version of Puppy did you compile this in?
Also, I modified your pet above:
- added pinstall.sh script for dependecies notification
- added puninstall.sh to cleanup leftover files when the pet is uninstalled
- removed documentation and some unecessary files to reduce size
I've made a separate documentation pet for the few who want it.
