LADSPA plugin effects for mhwaveedit and Audacity sound editors

Warning---> Most versions of mhwaveedit don't support LADSPA
plugins. An exception is the version that Pemasu is currently using in
Exprimo.

.... and I have made a mhwaveedit pet package for Barry Kauler's
Precise and Slacko that supports plugins
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 981#665981

There are nice flange effects and change of speed effects :lol:

Instructions: just click on LADSPA plugin package to install.
If you have a version of mhwaveedit that recognizes plugins then you
will see many more effects are listed at bottom of effects list.
The FFTW package is optional. It is apparently needed for a couple of
effects(i.e. scaling) but it's not all that important, so I suggest leaving
it out.

Nice!! :)
I 'm a sound engineer and i have to use Windows on the studio computer. :evil:
I 'd really like to try more open-source audio apps,maybe try a full Puppy sound distro...

I found more plugins!!!

The Tap-plugins are excellent and easy to use
but I noticed that the sound volume is low in the output file.
I have to use 'nomalize' after completing the effect to boost
the sound to an acceptable level.

The Caps-plugins I found accidentally in Slacko distribution.
This is rather strange since the version of mhwaveedit in
Slacko doesn't recognize plugins. Perhaps they were intended to
be used for Audacity. The solution is to upgrade mhwaveedit to
my version here....

The Caps plugins are excellent and don't have the problem
with sound volume that the Taps plugins have.

I tested on a simple mono voice sound file and here are some
observations....

C* Plate ---> excellent reverb effect
C* Autowah ---> set f to 500 and convert to a telephone voice
C* StereoChorusI ---> good echo
C* Plate2x2 ---> set Blend to high to get more echo
C* JVRev ---> excellent dream like echo effect!!
C* Click ---> makes a metronome clicking effect
C* ChorusI --> set feedback to high to get echo

my favorite in the Caps plugins is C* JVRev

Tap plugins have a good website for support.
There is a description of the settings which is nice.

Here's some observations...

Sound volume is low so I have to normalize

TAP Pink/Fractal Noise ---> adds a hiss to background which
might be useful in film editing.

Tap pitch shift ---> this can make a voice sound like it's
been recorded by a distant microphone . Might be useful for
film editing.

Instructions - Set dry to minus 50 and wet to minux 40
If semitone shift is set to high level (i.e. 6.0) , then you get
space alien voice

Here is some notes for the original LADSPA-plugins.
I tested with simple mono speaking voice

Auto phasor ---> adjust feedback to get feedback affect
Chebystiev distortion ---> adds static
Vinyl (Vinyl effect) ---> makes audio sound like it came from old vinyl
Gong --> interesting echo
DJ Flange --> simple flange effect
multivoice chorus ---> chorus
Bode frequency ---> excellent underwater effect
Plate reverb ---> put settings to right to get a stadium echo
RingMod ---> convert to space alien voice
GVerb ---> excellent reverb effect
Flanger ---> set Feedback to -0.6
Rate shifter --> makes voice high pitched but doubles the words
non Band limited single sample impulse ---> simple ticking beat

Don't confuse 'Bode frequency' with 'Bode frequency (CV)'.
I wasn't able to get 'Bode frequency (CV)' to work :cry:
