Can I make a frugal install in an ext4 partition?

#1 Post by ikaros262 »

I tried before but it didnt work. It works for me only with vfat or ntfs. I want to have another linux os too for example ubuntu or fedora. Would it make boot problems if i had ubuntu and puppy in separate partitions?

Hmm depends what puppy you tried... older ones may not have ext4 support.

Grub4dos does support ext4 partitions but cannot exist on one...perhaps that was the problem...the g4dos installer is supposed to use a workaround for such cases.

I have tried various versions of Slacko, Lucid and Wary (in the last year or so) with frugal installs on ext4 partitions and they have all worked okay.

no but you might have to get familiar with grub2

For further help we need to know the puppy version you are using
