Why are downloads not in sdb1/Download?

#1 Post by Schpankme »

I've lost count on how many times I've downloaded a file to have it missing from the Download Directory: (sdb1/Download)

What is causing this?

Hi,

I assume you're downloading using the browser and that you have set /sdb1/Download as the download destination in the browser.

If the browser says the download is finished, it should be somewhere. (root/Downloads?)

Maybe your sdb1 partition is not mounted, making it invisible for the browser?
Try to mount it first, before a download, as a test. (Just click on its icon).

If that works, you better move your download directory to a partition that is always (automatically) mounted, like /mnt/home.

Or have a look at Pwget ... :)
