This lists mirrors and checksum so all can be used at once for increased reliability, availability, and integrity. There are multiple download managers supporting this, including aria2. (See this post).

OpenOffice.org, Arch Linux, PC-BSD, DesktopBSD, openSUSE, and many other distributions use this already.
