SOLVED - How tu run Popcon-Time?

#1 Post by luiscuadrado123 »

Hello!!

i search on internet and in the forum.. and i can't find the way tu run PopCorn-Time (software to see online movies using torrent, see this page to know about the program):
https://popcorntime.io/

the problem is when i try to run it, I get:

./Popcorn-Time: error while loading shared libraries: libudev.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

On internet, all solutions say that i must to do this:
ln -s /lib/$(arch)-linux-gnu/libudev.so.0 /lib/$(arch)-linux-gnu/libudev.so.1

but this solution dont work.. i dont have the libudev.so.0 file either

the only files i have in /lib with the name libudev is "libudev.so.0.11.1"

Any idea?

EDIT: SOLVED WITH THIS CODE:

ln -s /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libudev.so.0 /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libudev.so.1

More importantly, did you understand what that line accomplishes?

libudev

Simpler, with ROX go to /lib
locate libudev.so.0.11.1 and copy it and rename the copy to debudev.so.1
then download popcorn-time-0.3.3_beta.pet from
http://repo.mamalibre.com.ar/pub/puppyl ... 3_beta.pet
install it.
Works ok.

Don't know how to respond when someone offers you help? Tsk, tsk..

If you had given me the time, you'd have already been running the program.

hi sorry, I was not arround
i tried with some popcorn-pet. but it was missing some files that i copied from /lib/mozilla folder to lib folder and then it was saying that those files are not missing, but still nothing.
well if there was some kind of a tutorial for it i would be grateful. (for clean install of course.)

Code: Select all

A favorite in many circles has reached an internal strife that appears to have forced its closure (it had external RIAA pressures as well).

Several articles announce this Other avenues do exist, though
