I downloaded and installed Foxit reader. (Solved)

I downloaded FoxitReader1.00.0909_Server_x86_enu_Setup.run.tar.gz, extracted it and installed. But I don't see it anywhere in my menu.It's not present in Find'N'Run either.

I like Foxit Reader for Windows and I would like to use it as my default PDF viewer in Puppy.

When you ran the installer, the default install location was /root/FoxitSoftware/FoxitReader. Go into this folder and locate the file FoxitReader.sh. Drag it onto your desktop.

In addition to rcrsn51's reply, to be able to see FoxitReader in Find'N'Run you need to add a desktop file for FoxItReader in /usr/share/applications.

If you're still having trouble...
Try this...

I have this FoxitReader-1.1.0 installed [in Slacko-5.7.0-pae] and working fine.
It has "/usr/share/applications/Foxit-PDF.desktop", and an entry in "Menu->Document->Foxit".

Content of "/usr/share/applications/Foxit-PDF.desktop":

Code: Select all

[Desktop Entry]
Encoding=UTF-8
Name=Foxit - PDF viewer
Icon=/usr/share/Foxit/foxit.png
Comment=Foxit PDF viewer
Exec=foxit
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=X-DocumentUtility
GenericName=Foxit PDF viewer
