Latest Vivaldi Browser .sfs. Released 31.10.2019

#1 Post by lizardidi »

*Note: The .sfs is strictly for testing only

"Vivaldi is a freeware, cross-platform web browser developed by Vivaldi Technologies, a company founded by Opera Software co-founder and former CEO Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner and Tatsuki Tomita. It was officially launched on April 6, 2016.

Although intended for general users, it is first and foremost targeted towards technically-inclined users as well as former Opera users disgruntled by its transition from the Presto layout engine to a Chromium-based browser that resulted in the loss of many of its iconic features. Despite also being Chromium-based, Vivaldi aims to revive the features of the Presto-based Opera with its own proprietary modifications." -- quoted fr Wiki

This is a Chromium-based browser. It can use all Google Chrome / Chromium plugins / extensions, and support Quick Command / Keyboard Shortcut set by user. Tested working well on Dpup Stretch (32 bit) and Bionicpup64 (64 bit), uses less memory / quicker than Chromium.

***The vivaldi_downloader.pet by 01micko (refer here: http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=117244) works flawlessly to generate vivaldi browser in sfs format. It is highly recommended to use the downloader as you will be able to upgrade your vivaldi browser to the latest version by yourself. The .pet is very easy to use.
(Thanks 01micko!) =)
