Opinions on IPFS (Interplanetary File System)?

#1 Post by cochranizer »

Hello, everyone!

After having been absent for so long on this forum, I figured I'd wish everyone a Happy New Year!

Anyways, I was thinking about making IPFS Hashes for official Puppy Linux Downloads, and I was wondering what is everyone's opinion on IPFS in general. For example, the IPFS hash for the 64-bit build of Bionic Pup 8.0 (bionicpup64-8.0-uefi.iso) is QmWewesxNRKw9rz4ZtyRBw2RKUPvrowo1t11XxkBC6Jr2N and you can feel free to verify or audit.

Do you think it's worth it, in terms of security and download speed? I want everyone's informed opinion and it can make a good thread for discussion.

I wouldn't mind including something like this for a package manager (e.g. Sc0ttman's package manage (I.e. pkg)). However, first pgp (or gpg) must be implemented in the package manager.
