Thanks, muggins. It works for me in Lucid as well, and although it's link to GIMP produces an error for me it will still export to a 16-bit tif file I can open in GIMP (if only in 8-bit). Much appreciated.

But: The devs and Barry should be asked at least, if they support this idea and would be willing to participate in the manner I suggested in the first group of examples. Would they even be interested? I think it is a fair question, and fair to expect an answer to that from them personally, before p...

I find it exceedingly obnoxious that any attempt to fix something or improve something, or even bring it to attention is labeled as whining. Not every " attempt to fix something or improve something, or even bring it to attention is labelled as whining "; certainly not by me and most of t...

A single voice to speak for Puppy

When I was project coordinator for Puppy, first with 2.15CE and later with 4.2x series, there was a cacophony of voices clamoring to be heard on the subject of what Puppy could or should be. In the beginning it was easy to pick out the voices of reason, but in the end there was so much "sound&q...

as far as i'm concerned, whodo has zero cred in regards to his views on puppy and should not be speaking on behalf of BK particularly without a supporting link Oh please. You just don't like what I tell you, regardless of where it came from originally. You want a link? How about a direct quote (aga...

I disagree with the "Do-ocracy" analogy. One person can't do it alone. Not when the few people with the ability and power to "let them in" stamp them with the "reject" stamp. Nobody can "do" without appropriate "official" support. You know, that uno...

What I'd like to see (or identify the appropriate version) is one that runs pretty well on 128MB. I booted one machine with 64MB, but it was painful -- marginally functional once up, and a swap file was installed (I actually had more RAM than that to install, but was testing how small for booting)....

Tending to keep on topic more than you in this thread, the future of Puppy depends on moving into the mainsteam. How? Puppy must be expanded to full CD size where it can actually show off and be used right out of the box rather than merely being a tool to build a full system. Add 500MB to Puppy and...

he doesn't say like it or leave directly as you do Really? Then what do you perceive is the meaning of this? Puppy has never been run as a "proper" project , it has always been ad-hoc. There is no CVS/SVN server, no bug-reporter. For the last couple of years, new puppies have been release...
