Building a slack version went well with the rc7 kernel. gparted was broken though, it was missing libparted-1.8.so.8. I wonder if it might help if the scripts took full ownership as root through the first 2 scripts and assigned ownership back prior to building the packages with script 3? @ BarryK- i...

I can imagine that screenshot looked good at 3am after a few beers. I don't know if that was supposed to be naughty or nice, but good input will be welcomed by all. The screenshot is of course what im working in, and was merely a way of sharing the progress im making. I apologize if im not piccaso....

more progress

ive attached a png of my latest raw build. this is a slack build off of woof 5a. seemed fine. Had small issues with tray apps jumping to upper left screen corner as duplicates. I saw that this was reported elsewhere. Core will not be 4.2, this is built with the rc7 of the latest kernel. I will be in...

oh yes

http://groups.google.com/group/vinux-development/web/roll-your-own-vinux--1-4 I thought that this set of instructions could be adapted to the latest jaunty puppy build. That would actually be awesome for a global audience of visually impared users. I think you should invite him to puppy for this pr...

Warning!: do not work with multiple usb devices and alcohol at 3 am when hacking. It will result in overwriting days of your work. @BarryK- I took your package list for 4.12 official, and had created the 4.2 version.I dont have permissions on ibiblio, so lied to the script and had it check a local d...

SFS

Short answer is no. Long answer is that it is very easy to create sfs files, and it would be easy enough to script the creation of one.

coordination

Im disgusted. I can not believe this thread was even started. I think you boys should sit back and listen to yourselves. I think you need to take a different approach to this. Lets not talk about 'official' releases. i think that many releases have been wonderful. If its bothering you boys that bad ...

Hey techno, Im actually building somethign similiar, but still am learning along the way. If you have the commitment, im looking for a core group to work with. This is not exactly what you talked about, but more. I've made mention to barry and others about the endeavor, but have not had any serious ...

Did you apply the fixes to it? ttuuxxx Yes, all 4.2 listed (bear in mind this is a woof build of puppy) @BarryK- in the remasterpup2 you've commented out the puppyversion ref. this seems odd as puppy still reads this. Maybe an else condition so that a woof built puppy OR a non puppy woof built linu...

squash naming

Hey BarryK, Couldn't you make the ppup-???.sfs a pup-???.sfs and define the compat distro variable as a pup instead of a ppup. Creating sfs continuity. A PUP pup is a pup, insn't it? ;) Also Barry, with the remasterpup2 script it looks at the burner as both the source and the media to write; cant we...

remax

i am being asked for the cd, but am running from usb. I jsut finished looking over remasterpup2 script, as remax looks mostly correct. I then relized that in fact, the remaster scripts can all be written as one, AND that we can rebuild the whole script to encompass whatever media puppy is currently ...

Puppy 4.22 ?

So I thought i would share this with the crew. I took 4.1.3 ppup and integrated 4.2. so now i have a woof ppup 4.22 ? Earthpup 4.22!? lol I spent a few hours manually comparing each file. I found a few from 4.1.3 that were updated in 4.2 and vice versa. In merging i think this is the most up to date...

woof woof

Hi Barry, I've been playing with woof since day one and love the scripts. I think that I sent you a message a loooooong time ago about a concept system, and woof is very close. I think if I could isolate you and a few choice others, I might be able to help you skip a few steps to the top. I don't wa...

not that i'e heard of anything about that thing we know nothing about, but i did have an idea. Say the folks who want this were to join forces with the tor pup crew. Just a conspiracy though.
