I had several crashes with the latest versions, but this one seems to run stable in Muppy (Puppy 301) in Firefox.
I use it for a day now, no crash yet.
Many thanks.
Will test more in the next days, and then replace the (for me) last stable 9.0.48 with it.

no, crashed again.
The only one that works on that site, is:
http://dotpups.de/puppy3/dotpups/Intern ... STABLE.pup
mirror:
http://puppyfiles.ca/dotpupsde/puppy3/d ... STABLE.pup
For this reason I also reverted the default "Flash9.pup" to that version 064 now.
I cannot give you the link of the site where it crashes, as it needs a login.
Strange: I can not find the flash-code in that site.
But the effects are reproducable.
Somewhere, a quicktime is embedded.
It also uses tons of Javascript.
Maybe that has side-effects to the plugin from Adobe.

flash 9.0 r124 works on one machine but not another
I've never bothered loading flash plugin on my Puppy Linux with Firefox installation. However, I have been experimenting with it and Firefox 2.0.0.13 on Slitaz. Odd thing is it works fine (so far) on one of my two old Dell Latitude laptops (one a CPt, the other a CPx). I describe my experience below in case it helps shine any light on any Puppy with Flash issues. I've still to try the links mentioned in this thread but I'll post back if they cause any different behaviour. Here are my Slitaz/Firefox/Flash 9v124 results:
"
I also have trouble with Firefox suddenly closing down on a 128 MByte RAM Celeron 400MHz machine sometimes (apparently when doing anything heavy). For example, I installed flash with get-flash-plugin, and then went to http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/asia-pacific/7347638.stm
- a short video clip on pollution.
I'm using dialup so had to wait on it loading the clip, but it never made it before Firefox just shut itself down. I'm using a full install of Slitaz on my hard disc, though I'm only using a 80 Mbyte swap partition.
I'll try it on my other machine which has double that RAM and feedback on the result.
Follow on results:
Using slitaz-stable with Firefox 2.0.0.12 and flash plugin from get-flash-plugin and only one tab open.
I have now tried the above on my other old laptop: a Dell Latitude CPx 450MHz Pentium III system with 256 MByte RAM and only 80 MBytes swap partition. Flash worked fine in Firefox with no Firefox crashout. I thus thought it was a memory issue. However...
I then downgraded this second machines RAM to 128 MBytes, and guess what - Firefox with Flash plugin still worked fine without crashing out.
I also tried doubling the memory in the other Celeron machine (a Dell Latitude Cpt laptop) to 256 MByte (using the memory from the CPx Pentium III machine), but on that machine, Firefox always crashed out when trying to load the BBC news page video stream.
I then upgraded Firefox via tazpkg to version 2.0.0.13, but that made no difference. On the Celeron 400MHz CPt machine, Firefox always crashes out on trying to load the BBC news video stream. The CPx Pentium III machine does not. Nothing to do with memory or swap space (which though low, was never in fact used during any of the tests according to the busybox "free" utility). I've since even completely reinstalled Slitaz-stable on the Celeron 400MHz CPt machine, but still Firefox crashes out on trying to load a BBC news video stream.
Firefox doesn't crash out at all for me so far when just generally browsing, even in the Celeron CPt machine (I have six tabs open at the moment and it is fine).
I've also now opened a seventh tab and gone to www.neopets.com to try one of the Flash-based (I think) games my kids use, but... no crash on using that!
Finally opened an eighth tab and trying to load a BBC news video stream again on the Celeron CPt with currently 256MByte RAM installed machine - once more Firefox crashed out...
Seems thus to be machine specific and possibly a timing problem of some sort related to the Adobe Flash plugin.
I have noticed messages on the Puppy murga linux forum suggesting that lots of people have problems with Adobe flash plugin 9.
Having said that my old Dell Latitude CPx Pentium III works fine with flash so far, even with just 128 MBytes RAM - but not the slower Celeron (CPU usage does not seem to get too high at any stage though).
I doubt the problem is caused by Slitaz or Firefox - I suspect a timing sensitive Adobe Flash plugin - but I don't know."

even works fine with 64 MByte RAM on fullinstall SLitaz
Okay, I also tried the Firefox crashing with Flash on Slitaz OS Celeron laptop on a visit to
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome
The flash 9 v.124 plugin works fine on a visit to that site.
In other words, that site doesn't provide a rigorous enough test, since BBC news streaming videos still cause the CPt Celeron firefox to crash out (but not the CPx machine).
[Edit] I've since tried reducing the RAM In the Dell Latitude CPx 450 MHz Pentium III laptop to only 64 MByte (with 80 MByte swap partition) with full harddrive installed Slitaz OS.
Firefox 2.0.0.13 + Adobe Flash 9v124 plugin works perfectly even with the 64 MByte RAM on that machine with BBC news streaming videos (used 24 MByte of swap according to busybox version of free).
[I actually loaded up two instances of firefox and several other apps and still the 64 MByte Pentium III 450 MHz machine ran fine and smooth with the flash video from the BBC news...]
But that doesn't help my other old machine which can handle many flash sites but not BBC news streaming videos even with 256 MBytes RAM.

Hello all,
I've been trying to update my older puppies to stay current with the latest flash requirements on most web sites. Simple Pup has been the worst experience. It uses Firefox 2.0.0.20. Flash 7 is stable and works for things like YouTube but not the latest stuff. Flash 9 here almost works but then crashes Firefox. Flash 10 is not even recognized. It's like it's not even installed.
On Puppy 1.0.9 CE with Firefox 1.0.5 I can get Flash 9 to work great and it renders most sites.
How did it get so fickle?

I tried any flashplayer - 10 and 9. flashplayer 10 didnt work - you tube show missing plugin.
Flashplayer 9 work on you tube, but run wery slowly.
Flashplayer 9 didn't pass adobe flash player test.
So - its impossible to instal new Flashplayer?
Should i update glib library, or what?
I have puppy 4.1.2 kernel "retro" (puppy-4.1.2retro-k2.6.21.7-seamonkey.iso)

progress......How did it get so fickle?
sites that crashed a particular flash 9 / mozilla combination said 'wrong flash version' in firefox portable with flash 9 plugin in wine or simply did not show anything.go figure...
Some flash video players are now using sources other than flv...eg mp4..... perhaps related. Also flash 9 has much more system intertwining than 7 or previous...and what happend to 8 eh. Could also be javascript calls or other adware / phone home events going on....not all flash content is friendly it seems.
someone suggested flashblock ...only enable the flash you want. Since for example imdb.com has 3 to 4 flash adverts on one page not a bad idea.
Best stability so far is seamonkey in puppy 4.12 or firefox 2 and flash 9.0.124 from adobe archive.
Personally is still use flash 7 on firefox 1.5 as I need to be productive and crashes seriously get in the way (and don't impress potential linux converts either).
Also note that recent instabilities came with the adobe takeover of macromedia ...not being paranoid or anything could simply be bad programming and rushing out new features like microsoft do.
regards
mike

Does this mean if I install all these missing libraries that Flash 10 will work In Firefox?
Have been trying firepup (customised firefox 1.5, security hardened from Red Hat packaged my ttuxxx) and it seems very stable, and fast on older computers.
Over the last few years I have noticed a trend of firefox becoming gradually more and more unstable with flash. This early version of firefox 1.5/flash 10 seems very stable so perhaps it is mozillas doing.
Any code, open or closed, should be able to recover from serious errors before they become crashes. Buggy proprietry code like flashplayer should be "wrapped" or encapsulated (to give it its proper programming term), so that crashes dont bring down the system. Since firefox is the host platform, it is the mozilla developers that should take into account flashes erratic behaviour and code around it, whether they hate it for ideological reasons or not.
I look after about 100 pc's running puppy (at least I havnt kept track) in the local area and the firefox/flash crash issue is one of the biggest complaints about it. If a Firepup/Flash 10 combo as a main browser gets around that then firefox 1.5 is still best linux web browser out there for us.

Sorry, my server is down atm!

This requires a newer one, it is for example part of firefox./root/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so: /usr/lib/mozilla/libnss3.so: version ` NSS_3.11' not found (required by /root/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so)
This is really bad./root/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' no t found (required by /root/.mozilla/plugins/libflashplayer.so)
libstdc++.so.6 => /root/my-applications/lib/libstdc++.so.6 (0x40a70000)
It requires a new glibc, which is a fundamental part of Puppy.
It is not trivial to install it.
You might try wows unnamed puplet with newer glibc:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=36592
Newyearspup02 rc1 Mini/Midi/Maxi (based on wows) includes this flash already:

Ok, yet another stupid question from newbie
I have an opera and seamonkey. I've installed flashplayer 10, and - i cannot pass test on adobe site in Opera, but seamonkey seems to work properly (altought slow as usual).
i used ldd /usr/lib/opera/plugins/libflashplayer.so - it's a place where opera have a plugin - and i have message that there is no such file.
Can i manually put libflashplayer.so into this directory?
It seems that flashplayer 10 haven't installed properly in Opera.
