#1 Post by malato »

hi all,

i've run legacy os 2 live and it works very good,
but each time i install it, soon after the grub i see the blank screen with the underscore blinking .. and it won't move from that.. can this be fixed anyhow?

Hello malato,
At what stage does the install fail. Does Grub install?
Do you allow enough time for Legacy OS 2 to copy on to your Hard Drive?
Please explain what you do to install Legacy.
Are you partitioning your Hard Drive before installing?

i insert the cd, make it boot from the cd, i chose setup (cannot remember exactly where) i make one 2 GB patition for swap and the rest is an ext3 or 4 for legacy, setup successfully completes, grub is correctly installed
and eventually i reboot
after grub all i get is a blank screen with the blinking underscore on the top left corner..

Hello malato,
I always recommend users install to a ext2 partition with 500mb's of swap as this gives the best change of getting a working copy of Legacy OS 2 installed to a users computer.
If you read other users install problems you will see that most try and install to a ext3 partition and fail. ext2 works just fine trust me.
All I have just said and more are in the pop ups that are part of the installer. Please take the time to read them while trying the install again!
