Would the moderator care to explain the censorship?

#1 Post by Sit Heel Speak »

Instance of censorship noted. What is the justification?

not necessarily!

not necessarily!

Most boards have these O.T. areas and part of the legal requirements is that the entries are checked out before public viewing.

To deal with this requirement, what happens in most cases, is that the entries are allowed to be added, and at this time the OP (Origonal Poster) can see them, but they are actually created in a protected area (no public access) for checking before release, when they have been checked out and authorised, they are moved into the all-access O.T. Area.

In most cases, once the OP has logged off and out of the system, so the link between the bbs and the OP has gone, the newly created topic even disappears for them.

If the 'responsable person' for the bbs is offline (there may be only one, but usually two), i.e. away it can take up to a day or ocassionally two before it appears, it could also take time if the RP wants to ask advice before releasing the topic. If the RP is online it can seem to appear instantaneously, but isn't.

In most cases, if the topic is rejected, the OP would receive a PM to say so and explain why, that's just common courtesy, and I would hope that happens in this boards case.

regards
scsijon
and PS I'm not a RP for this board and do now wish to become one, I have enough with others I interface with!

It appeared; I checked, both when online and off. jpreps posted a response. And then the thread vanished.

Tomorrow morning I will re-post the link which I wish to draw attention to.

And then we will see if anonymous censorship rules the Puppy Linux Discussion Forum.

I have also replied to a few posts to have my replies disappear.
And I would also like to know if we are talking about a forum software glitch or an overzealous moderator.

I, like you, would like a moderator to chime in here and offer their thoughts on the disappearing posts.

I do not like silence from the moderators in relation to this problem.

Links disappearing. Is it to Spam?
or is it to the Forum that don't like the Puppy forum owner?
What kind of site. Is it political, religious, Ms Win related.
Maybe related to Steve Job's hate love of Google?
Him wanting to destroy Android? I mean why all this secrecy.

You censor to me now what it was all about? Yes I realize you
think or trust that if you mention what it is about then the whole thread
get deleted?

Can you at least assure me it was not about puppyite?

oh yes such can be very dangerous to allow on a site.
John would get Court Order to take it down or he can get in prison
and also be fined thousands of Dollars for allowing such to be online
so I see why a Mod would react to it.

why on earth do you want us to get engaged in such things?

Are you some kind of Anti-GMO fanatic or something? Why else? :)

I trusted it was the war against Google or Android or
about the fact that Puppyite seems to hate our beloved Puppy forum.

One question, before this thread gets disappeared:

In what country is the Puppy Linux Discussion Forum server, physically located? Specifically, is it in one of the 14 nations which have it a crime to question received wisdom (read: "imposed belief")?

I guess a whois of ip would know. or
can one just look up the domain?

okay the server is different from the domain hosting.
You have to know what server it is on? Ooops I have no idea

But I can understand why the Admin or Mod took it down.
I would not support such views either. Do you support them
or why else link to such texts?

oh now I know about server?
We get reminders of somebody answering a thread
we subscribe to. Would that not show the IP addy? or is that IP
of the software of the Admin and not of the server?

you have to ping or something

Is that directed at me? Yes, I oppose GMO's. As would any sane person, after learning of the work of Arpad Pusztai. I also oppose all the destruction of the U.S. Constitution which has occurred in the wake of 911. I also oppose bankster bailouts and all the wars the U.S. Government is engaged in.

Maybe they thought it was "FLAME BAIT" and wanted to stop it before the whole forum rips it self apart?
Many forums have tougher rules about "FLAME BAIT" .
Try posting it on ubuntu forums and you'll get my meaning.
puppy is very open minded but there must be some limits?

harii maybe is right.

I posted on Ubuntu forum that Puppy can boot frugally
and save to a save file and why can not ubuntu do that?

A Moderator saw that teasing remark as a Trolling attempt
and wanted me to be instantly banned for ever for talking bad about ubuntu

Then again, maybe I'm off the mark. Perhaps I am mistaken in liking the world to continue --after all, the Bible, in James 4:4, says,

"Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."

Not that I am an adulterer, except as Jimmy Carter once said "in my heart," but, maybe I should be content with having a nice operating system, and meanwhile welcome the destruction of the human race and all higher life on this planet???

Have you studied Dr. Pusztai's findings?

You can get three Doctors and have 3 different findings - now  that insane.

Look at the whole:
Earth warming due to man side and sun growing in size and getting hotter side - both say global warming.
both call each side wrong. :?

I come to think about an important thing.

When we sign up to be members here then we agree to not question
what the Admin or the Moderators do. That is for them to decide.

So your question here
Would the moderator care to explain the censorship?
In other forums to even ask such a question would get you instantly banned.

History would suggest otherwise.
