I can't boot from CD, I get the error:
"ext2-fs (loop1): error: ext2_lookup: deleted inode referenced: 16"
a zillion times rolling up my screen.
My research tells me that perhaps I need to to a file system check to root out corruption. So I should figure out how to boot with pfix=fsck I think. Is that a GRUB thing? Am I on the right track? How do I do it?
How Do I Boot With pfix=fsck
Hello,
Using pfix=fsck works on the savefile..
Probably all you need..
At the boot prompt, enter
Boot pfix=ram.
Do not mount the drive.
If you copied the .sfs to the drive, and it remains mounted, rename the .sfs on the drive, and reboot pfix=ram again, then name it back when finished..
In a terminal, enter
e2fsck "drive"
where "drive" is your drive number..
IE "e2fsck sda1" (without quotes)
Answer yes a lot....
Then reboot..
If you do a "cold shutdown" via the power button, Puppy will check both the drive and the save at the following boot.... (not recommended, but works.. )

When booting from the CD, be ready to type a "p".
That should pause the boot process long enough for you to continue to enter the
boot parameter. You would have a "p" displayed at a prompt at the bottom of the screen.
You then just finish the line you started to type to make it look like "puppy pfix=fsck"
It will not work without typing puppy first as I guess that tells it there is a boot parameter following.
