Please give me a few good reasons for why I should go for slacko 5.3
I'm so comfortable with 5.2.8, please push me!

Hi,
You are comfortable with Lupu 5.2.8, but, after more than one year, I remain delighted with Lupu 5.1 (not even 5.1.1). You tell me why I might ("should" is wholly inappropriate) wish to try "your" version.
So, I have not tried lupu 5.2.8, but I am currently using the excellent Slacko 5.3 Main (in this case with only DVD and USB stick so that I have a fall back position when my long-serving hard drive fails).
I will probably wait for the final version of Saluki before I try it - mainly out of huge interest - rather than any need or desire to use it - though I am sure it will be yet another exceptional breed.
My regards

I'm not advocating Slacko as I too prefer Lupu 5.2.8.
The three technical reasons I would consider for using Slacko are:
- Uses a more recent copy of woof so maybe has newer bugfixes/releases of tools.
- Works better on the most recent hardware that Lupu doesn't work so well on (e.g. Intel 2nd generation Core 2 processors).
- If you are plagued by the sound problem with Lupu that is the subject of much discussion in the Lupu thread at the moment.
If you are not worried by the above then if Lupu works why change?
If, like me, you consider the lupu specific things, such as the Control Panel, Help101, important then you can always get the lupify pet to bring them into Slacko.

Read the features. Read the comparisons to other Puppys.

5.3 will mature, just as Lucid did.
There is nothing wrong with Puppy 1 or 2 or 3 or 4.
Some of our remasters such as Legacy OS or Ttuuxxx's update of the 2 series are also mature . . .
Personally never really needed a push to move on from earlier Puppys . . .
I run from DVD, so could easily use both Lucid and Slacko.
With a bit of Grub tweaking you could do the same, even if running Puppy from HD . . .
