Pet manager won't start in Slacko

Hi,

In Slacko nothing happens when I push the PET package manager button.

Executing the /usr/local/petget/pkg_chooser.sh script in a terminal gives this message:

Error in line 44, near token '</default>' : syntax error

I checked the CD, where it works normally, but not so from the installed USB stick. Copying the script from CD to the dir on the stick didn't help either.

I cheked the CD's checksum and it's OK.

BTW: The country settings button also doesn't function : neither from CD, nor from the stick.

Kerry- the line's different but, possibly.. If you continue to face trouble, Saluki might make a better fit.

Saluki looks interesting too. I used Puppeee before, also developed by Jemimah and that worked just GREAT.

Does anyone know how to manually alter the country settings?

Just a quick update: so far all works fine under Saluki, except for getting back out of hibernation mode.

Yep. This was just a qick off-topic remark, since that distro was recommended to me in this thread.

I keep working with Puppy too and will update after testing the suggestions made here, for which I'm thankful btw.

Not here either (I run in Swedish locale with Swedish keyboard and UTF-8 if that may affect anything though I doubt it.)

Edit: Or possibly that it would be better if I removed this post. If I could, and checked for another place with the same comment or made one there. Anyway .. I can't. And that's how it is.
