Hello Everyone who commented,
I never expected anyone to be using 1600 x 1200 Screen Ratios and 2 of you have commented that you do. I expected a few 800 x 600 posts but theres been none.
Anyone out there using 800 x 600 please say so now.
Please keep those Ratios coming...

I use 800x600 on my 17" CRT cos that is all my eyes can cope with.
Now I have finally got a second hand 19" LCD with 5x4 aspect ratio (NOT 16x9) I may likely move to 1024x768 or a bit higher.
Since new LCDs seem to come in 16x9 only I fear for the eyesight of people who like to use computers for something other than viewing videos. I have found no solution to using a brand new 16x9 22" LCD that I bought. Try and reduce the pixel resolution from the preferred default for the monitor and it goes fuzzy. I'm glad I managed to get that 19" 5x4. The world of technology does not care about those with poor eyesight.

Old kit, crt (max. 1024x768)= 800x600; anything Athlon via KVM on led monitors (max. 1400x900)= 1024x768. Anything higher is just bragging rights by folks with peculiar setups or incorrect use-of/positioning of HW, even for 20/20 vision. Maybe some folks haven't spotted the title "LEGACY" ?! When this kernel was current, BK was still using 640x480 default!
