It has pre-build kernel modules for Puppy-4.3.1, Lucid, Precise-5.7.1, and Slacko-5.7.
For other kernels, you need devx and kernel source packages to build the kernel modules.
Hi,
Question: What's the best puppy for virtualbox?
After trying unsuccessfully to install devx on Tahrpup, just want to pick the best puppy for vbox.
thx
To insall devx on tarpup, I presume it is just a matter of downloading the .sfs file, right clicking on it and selecting "load sfs". At least this is how it is done on other puppy distributions.
on another
puppylinux forum they say that it can be found here:

Try to match the version of devx with your version of tahrpup
As for which is the best puppy for a virtualbox, I'm tempted to ask which is the best puppy. I tend to prefer distros that are the most up to date. I haven't tried tahrpup but it seems to be maintained more recently than the version I'm using which is "precise". So therefore if I was to start afresh for a 32 bit system I'd give tahrpup a try.
However, an older version of puppy may be more light weight and perhaps the goal of your virtualbox is to minimize ram use, as ram is precious.
For 64 bit systems, I'm currently using fatdog64 but want to try other versions as well. I recently built an iso for fatdog64 with virtualbox guest services installed (see my
other thread).
If you are looking for prebuilt images a Google search reveals some:

or if you tell us what system you want to host it in maybe I or someone else can build one for you.
