with svg icons

please install the network_tray-2.7.4 pet followed by one of the attached pets.

Particularly interested in anybody who can test the "lx_icons" with connection types other than wifi and ethernet.

The "woofce_icons" should behave similarly to the current network_tray in tahr-pup.
hi peebee
,after installing network tray and the svg icons it shows as disconnected even though i'm connected

Hi 666philb

What kind of connection? and which networkmanager (if any)?

What do you get if you just load network_tray-2.7.4 (with xpm icons) but no svg icons?

Thanks
peebee

Thanks - save file and virtualbox

#564 Post by newbie7800 »

Thanks to everyone for replying. Couple of comments. I did save the drive in a linux compatible format when I created the partition table as recommended by Pendrive linux. The file size is also reported as 8gb.

A question. Can a save folder also be encrypted and are there any disadvantages to using a save folder over a save file?

Regarding virtualbox. I forget to mention I had already installed the correct sources. This did not help either. Eventually I tried simply to install direct from the www.virtualbox.org website the Ubuntu latest i386 file and if by magic :-) it has worked straight out of the box. Would recommend this approach for simplicity.

Most obvious disadvantages of save folder:
1) Currently, no support for encrypted save folder.
2) Cannot be used on NTFS or vfat file systems.

Just experimenting with compiling Linphone in TahrPup and although libupnp6 is included in the main .sfs the corresponding libupnp6-dev appears to be missing from the devx.

This is tahrpup 6.0 so I am not sure if this is fixed already in 6.0.2 so apologies if that is the case or if it has already been reported. I am adding libupnp6-dev from packages.ubuntu.com now in the hope that I can compile Linphone with UPnP support.

Could you remove the link to grooveshark in quickpet? It is no longer online due to it being censored and shutdown by the Copyright Cult.

hi bark_bark_bark

just tested and the resize function is working fine in both 6.0 & 6.0.2.

perhaps something you've installed has broken it.... possibly gtkdialog based by the looks of it.
worth booting live just to check

Using a flatbed scanner in Tahr Pup 6. Does this work?

#576 Post by Henry »

Using a flatbed scanner, e.g. HP Photosmart 5520, in Tahr Pup 6. Does this work?

If it does, how did you get it to work? Particulars, software modules used,etc..

Thanks, Henry

Same experience here, but reboot didn't help.
I noticed that the problem occurs if I set up the IP address/name servers manually using the Network Wizard.

internet connection problem

#578 Post by ariel »

hello,

I've just full-installed tahrpup non-PAE on 2 computers of a friend of mine which ship a Pentium4 and a Pentium3 microprocessors. Everything seems just fine but for the internet connection. The problem is that every time I turn on the computers I have to manually click

connect > connect now

It seems like the OS doesn't connect automatically even though it recognises the eth0 board.

Can someone help me solve this glitch?

State of my Tahr. What to do?

#580 Post by Henry »

Good afternoon, Phil,

I've been fiddling around with the new Quirky 7 (not ready for prime time) and other diversions, but meantime I have a real problem with my number one tool tahrpup 6.0 & 6.0.2 CE

Some weeks ago there was an unnoticed accident that caused the trash icon to disappear (still gone.). The advice you gave a gentleman some pages back using the terminal did not work for me, and I'm sure it never will considering what I've done. I been using pfind to delete/convert trash entries. This wasn't so bad. I still had a stable working system, but eventually my fooling with /usr/local/apps went to far, and I ran out of trash and deleted some really important stuff. You can imagine!!

I still have a second Firefox, etc, but my question and need boils down to this. I need to reinstall Tahr Pup 6. How do I do this? It's hard because your isos are "abnormal" and Pburn doesn't work nice with them.

Pathetic, eh? What can you advise? I do have an old backup . . . not sure what to splice in.
Actually, the backup probably won't be much use, since it seems to have followed the primary file :-)

Thanks,
Henry
