I have tried quite a few times to get Calibre 2.35 or later working but no matter what addition I make it always seg faults (or screws up my Puppy). I require 2.35 or later as there is a change in hardware recognition. I have a Kobo Glo HD. The 2.33 sfs does not recognize it when mounted.
I am presently running both Tahr64 and Slack64 in frugal installs trying to decide which to make primary.
thanks in advance for any help.
Calibre Ebook Manager
Fishy,
Download the desired archive from here:
http://download.calibre-ebook.com/2.45.0/
Now make a directory on a drive that has lots of space, I would call it something like calibre-2.45 on /mnt/home.
Move the downloaded file into the above directory and extract it.
Click on the calibre binary to run the application.
The first-run wizard will ask you where to create your calibre library. Select a drive with lots of space. I would place it in the directory I created above, /mnt/home/calibre-2.45.
Calibre creates two directories on the first run:
/root/Calibre Library
/root/.config/calibre (notice the . in front of config, it makes the directory hidden.
To reset the configuration, delete both of these directories.
Even if you cancel the first-run wizard both of these directories will be created.
It works here on Fatdog so I assume it will work on Slacko and Tahr.
This method is easier that creating a SFS file.
Enjoy

for tahrpup you'll need to install propitiatory graphic drivers for it to work
