An obscure bug... gifview shows the wrong animation...
Method:
Make a gif animation but save one of the layer images as png format.
Export an animation under 'File' menu --> however use the same name as another
gif animation previously made. You will see an error message
because of the png image, but gifview will show the previous animation.

PartedMagic on test bench at home
PartedMagic on test bench at home. No MTpaint, i cannot do whithout this app. Downloaded from sourceforge debian package.
I just had to add libjasper and link to so4 libtiff
and MTpaint opened on my desktop.
That is a feed back, no action required.
Happy new year to photographics lovers, and all others, of course.

config issue?
installing- gtklp_1.3.1-0.1_amd64.deb - in the new Slacko64-6.9.6.4 mtpaint 3.49.12 does get mtpaint to 'print' however the 'config setup' for the print doesn't seem to respond to commands..eg,, tried placing a small clipart in the left/hand upper part of the image-setup, it still prints a FULL-PAGE graphic? yes... I saved my setup prior to printing!
The default 'kprint %f' is WAY to large to install besides many dependencies are missing.

By a press of X key the user obtains the background color (usually black). What about eraser ?
Erase the bright colors with that.
However if you want a transparent area you first must first set a transparent color
(which is set in lower part of dock or save the layer with a color set as the transparent color)
Then you paint with that color.
I believe a change was made a couple of versions ago so that the lowest layer
is treated as a regular layer.

One of the nags I've had with mtpaint is that text can be aliased, but shapes (oval/circle esspecially) cannot be aliased. In the old days M$paint was good at drawing aliased shapes of various thickness (user-defined GUI). In some drawings, I miss the ability to alias the shape. For near-circles I can simply use a text o or O.
Any way to migrate the alias function to the select [] O outlines?

Eraser... How to create transparency....
Eraser... How to create transparency.... how to erase with transparency ????
You must set a transparent color first. Usually I do this in dock by setting the
color 0 i.e. black as the transparent color.
When you save as a GIF or PNG this transparent color is saved with the image.
I explain here.
